Our Wind Turbine Generator
Our Wind Turbine/Generator is a 3kW 48v DC Bornay brand unit. Mounted on a 60’ mast with a reinforced concrete foundation 10’X10’ square and 4’ deep, it supplements our electric use by about 25%. It also charges storage batteries that power our essential circuits through an inverter in the event of a power outage. Although our electrical consumption exceeds the turbine’s output by a large margin, we hope to add solar panels in the near future.
